Lysander Spooner (Odd name) made many important points, though quite cynically, which is always healthy when it comes to politics.

A lawyer by training, a strong abolitionist, radical thinker, and anarchist, Spooner wrote these specific pamphlets in order to express his discontent with the state and its legitimizing documents in the United States, the U.S. Constitution. He strongly believed in the idea of natural law, which he also described as “the science of justice,” and called “the science of all human rights; of all man’s rights of person and property; of all his rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”.

I tend to disagree with his strenuous assertion that the Constitution is not a valid or lawfully binding contract, though I understand his reasoning.

Public officials still swear solemn oaths to uphold and defend at least some reasonable facsimile of what most people think the Constitution means, including the Bill Of Rights and the Declaration Of Independence.

I believe one can stand on the basic principals of the Constitution and DECLARE that document as the basis on which any and all contracts or interactions with governmental agencies of any kind are to be established.
