Gotta love old Star Trek 😉

In a complete reversal of the “non-intervention” policy espoused in several episodes of the original Star Trek series, Captain Kirk (and Spock, by acquiescence) demand the ruling council of a planet under attack by the evil Klingons allow the Federation to fight on their behalf and provide protection and services, while also saying “I’m a soldier, not a diplomat”

The true spiritual nature of the Council members is somehow overlooked by Kirk AND Spock despite the many statements the Council make assuring “there is nothing wrong, the Klingons are not a problem, no one is dying, there will be no violence”, etc.
This episode is an interesting examination of the nature of military conquest, subversive rebellion, political ambition, tyranny, mind control and dictatorship. Have a look!
